24 WEEK CHECK UP

Today I had another doctor's appointment. I will be 24 weeks this coming Sunday. I met with Dr. Brown, another doctor in with my Doctor. Everything checked okay today, YAY!!! Dr. Brown did the doppler and listened to both heartbeats and both boys sounded just fine. She measured my belly and it measured.........................................30 WEEKS!!! WOW!!! I couldn't believe that, but she said that was great. And the best news of all, I've only gained 17 pounds so far. I go back in two weeks, which will be October 1st, for an U/S and my sugar test. So let's all keep our fingers crossed that I pass my sugar test.

I should have more fun posts next week. I have my first Baby Shower this weekend and I can't wait!!!! Chris is going on his last Deep Sea Fishing Trip for the year this weekend, so hopefully he has a good trip and catches lots of fish.

AND THE KICKING BEGINS.....

Yesterday Chris and I had our Multiples Birthing Class at the Brookwood Hospital Wellness Center. Our day began at 9am and didn't end until 4pm. It was a lonnnngggggg day, especially for a pregnant woman. We learned a lot of helpful tips when it comes to caring for twins and then caring for them after we come home from the hospital. The class touched on Nutrition, Breastfeeding, Sleeping Routines, What to expect when you come home from the hopistal, C-Section versuses Vaginal Delivery, Preterm Labor, and many more topics. But the most exciting thing that happened during our class was, we finally felt the babies or maybe just a baby kick. I've been feeling it for a while, but I hadn't been able to feel it with my hand on the outside. Well right in the middle of one of our lectures and I realized that what I was feeling wasn't just gas, so I grabbed Chris's hand and laid it on my belly so he could feel it too. This little one kicked about 15 times. I guess he was tired of sitting too!! HA! That was such a special moment to share even if it was during our class, but I will never forget that moment. Maybe soon I will be able to tell which baby is which.

PAINTING THE NURSERY!

So....we got the nursery painted....FINALLY!!! It only took three days!

Daddy to be worked so hard on getting the paint job just right!

This is a view from the door...I hung the curtain so hopefully you could see what other colors will be used. My mom is getting us the bedding, so hopefully within the next month I can get the beds all ready. The chair in the corner is going to have a white cushion in it, but it is being made right now and the changing pad cover will be blue.

This is Baby Bed number TWO!

Just another view...a shelf for their special things and then the lovely changing table and the wonderful baskets for organization....because we are sure going to need to be organized.
These pics are pretty plain, but it gives you a sneak peak of what their room is going to to look like. The green is a little brighter in person.

AND OUR BOYS HAVE NAMES.......

Well after several options and a lot of thinking, we finally have decided on the boy's names. The first baby out will be.....

Quinn O'Kelley Hamm

Quinn was my mother's maiden name and O'Kelley is my sister's name which is from the Walton side of my family. We are going to call him Quinn of course.

The second baby out will be..........

Kaden William Hamm

Kaden we both liked, but of course it took Chris a little longer to really like it and plus it sounds so good with Quinn. William is after Chris's maternal grandfather, but of course my dad and his paternal grandfather have William in their names as well. So William covers several people. We chose to spell Kaden with a "K" because with the "K" that makes his initials the same as mine.

We started painting the boy's room this weekend and hopefully tomorrow we can do the touch ups and be through and begin putting their beds together. As soon as we get completely through with the painting I'll post some pics so you all can see the color we chose. Daddy made several booboo's on the ceiling so he is having to fix those. HA! We also got registered this weekend which was so fun!! I hope we remembered everything. We registered at Babies 'R Us, Target, and College City Drug.

19/20 WEEK BABY UPDATE

So I went to the doc today. They did the BIG ultrasound today to make sure all the organs were okay and everything measured good. And both babies looked great!!!! I also had them double check to make sure they were BOTH boys. And they are BOYS!!!! Chris and I are so excited.....Baby A measured 19 weeks and Baby B measured 19 weeks and 2 Days. They are measuring right on schedule. Baby A weighed 9 oz and Baby B weighed 10 oz. I go back in 4 weeks which will be Sept 17th. After my appointment I went to Babies R Us to pick up the baby beds. So this week Chris and I are going to start painting their room and hopefully get that done so we can get the beds set up. We are also going to go register at Babies R Us and Target this weekend. So we've got a fun filled weekend ahead of us. Thanks so much for all your prayers and support. And I promise...as soon as we decide on names we will let you know.

Baby A: This Baby is the one that is on top. He is right in line with my belly button. His belly is on the left and his head is on the right. If you look closely you can see that he is looking right at you.

Baby B: This poor little baby is the one on the bottom that is getting squashed, but he was the most active last Wednesday. It took the U/S tech a few tries to get him to get his head where she could measure it. He must take after his Daddy. HA! This baby is laying on his back, facing straight up. His head is on the right side with his arm and hand on the top. It looks like he may be sucking his thumb.

Aren't Our Babies Just Precious!!!!!

WELL I CHANGED MY MIND.....

IMAGINE THAT.....Yesterday my dad and his wife took me shopping for Baby Beds. They called me about a week ago and said that they wanted to go shopping for Baby Beds and buy the babies their beds, so we met at Babies R Us yesterday around 3pm. We looked around and I finally decided against the white bed because I just feel like boys need a more masculine look. The bedding that I'm leaning toward looked good in a dark bed, so we then started looking for a dark bed. Of course I found one that I loved and was reasonable, but then when we went to try and order it, they were completely out of stock of that bed and even the warehouse didn't have any in stock. The girl helping us said that it could take three months to get them back in stock and I don't have time to wait three months on a warehouse who might or might not get those beds in stock so then I want to my second choice. The girl then proceeded to tell me that they weren't even suppose to have that bed on the floor and that it was available online only, so I asked her to check the online availability for me and of course it said it was available in the store only. So we checked on that bed and finally we found one she could order. Then after making a final decision we find out that the toddler rails don't come with it, you have to special order those. So we special ordered the toddler rails, too. I tell you what nothing can ever be easy. So anyway, we got the beds ordered and they should be here in about 7 to 10 business days. I hope you all like.

Now, I know what you are thinking....that bed looks black, but it isn't. It is called Espresso.

It is just a very dark wood and it is very pretty.

We are so excited about getting the nursery put together soon.

A LITTLE UPDATE!

On July 23rd Chris and I had another baby checkup. Both babies measured good and on time. They are both staying within a couple of days of each other on their measurements which is what you want when it comes to twins. We were also able to tell what our babies are. And we are having..........TWO BOYS!!! That's right...another set of twin boys in the Hamm family. Chris's sister has identical twin boys, Gavin and Hayden. We are actually in California visiting them right now. Gavin and Hayden turned 2 years old on July 27th. We had a blast getting to spend time with them and are so sad that we have to leave tomorrow to go home. But it's always nice to return home. Anyways, other than finding out that we are going to have two more sons and vacationing in CA, not much more is going on in our House Hold. As soon as we get back we are going to start shopping for the babies and getting their nursery ready, so I will be posting some pics soon. Oh and we will get the doc to reconfirm the gender of our babies on August 20th at our next appointment.
